The Morsel Fish (Ofella perpavulus, meaning "very-small morsel") is a fish native to Skull Island's waterways, similar to a man of war fish in appearance. It's described in the book "The World of Kong: A Natural History of Skull Island" (2005).
Facts[]
The bottom of the foodchain within the river systems of Skull Island, the Morsel Fish is a very apt name for these diminutive fishes. Small and completely helpless from the innumerable amount of predators in the island, the Morsel Fish only survived via sheer numbers.
Despite its humble origins, the Morsel Fish is a keystone species as it provides the various predators an appropriate and ready food source, without which, the entire riverine ecosystem would suffer a collapse.
Trivia[]
- Like all animals from Skull Island. It is unknown what they faced during the sinking of the island. Given the multiple expeditions, there may be a chance that a few surviving populations was saved off-land to a more stable enclosure.
